CHILDREN’S StoryTime
Tomaquag Museum is back with a whole new Story Time program! This winter, story time will be held virtually so you can enjoy from the warmth of your own home. Register now for the link to join!
Story time is intended to create a safe and energizing space for Native and non-Native children to learn about various tribal nations in a culturally sustaining way. We hope to encourage the growth and learning of our students holistically –– by sharing stories that speak to emotional, social, and mental strength. After each story, a craft will follow that will help emphasize the lesson and moral of the story, while providing necessary tools for children to express themselves in a creative manner.

“Tomaquag was a big part of my childhood. I can't count the number of times I walked up there to the museum and poked around. I loved the massive dugout canoe that hung from the ceiling and Princess Red Wing was always so kind. So proud of the award and how hard you've worked to preserve your heritage.”

"We love the work you do and want to thank you for a great summer of Children’s Hours! Thanks for being such a valuable resource for our state."

"Thank you for your patience, leadership, and grace with all of our noisy children. They absolutely loved the class. For the rest of the day, they were picking flowers, declaring what they were, and eating them out of the backyard - even teaching neighbor friends about it. Thank you for the great investment you make in passing on history and Native American culture and traditions. We are excited and grateful to learn more."

“Thank you so much for today. You were absolutely amazing. I’ve been working with these kids for quite some time and that was the longest I’ve ever seen anyone have their attention.”
